about
This is 5 tracks in one! I actually forget which I wrote first, it was either the solo near the end of the track, or the dark keyboard ballad section after the chiptune opening. This was a bit of an epic that took me a long time to finish. To give people an idea, I started this during the writing of Welcome To The Real World.
So where to start? The chiptune intro was originally just a silly thing I made to kickstart the album by itself. I was inspired by Links Awakening and got DaMonz to put it in a tracker for me, for extra authenticity.
I eventually decided to create this grand instrumental to kick start the entire album, and I eventually found it sague way'd perfectly into the main "song". The song section was always intended to be about Link, the main character in the Legend of Zelda series, which actually ended up working with the intro chiptune and the instrumental opening. I even left a compositional reference - a similarity I should say - to the LoZ main theme in the songs main riff.
So what I ended up with was a 10 minute epic about the Legend of Zelda. Hopefully a bit more on topic than Atop The World was in terms of the lyrical content :P
lyrics
In a far off land
Where theres islands in the sky
And a darkness falls across the land
To the secret realm
Find the relic thats within
The adventurer he must not fail
He rides, vanquishing foes with his mighty sword
He strikes, straight into the light
Through the dark, driven by the fire in his heart
Break through, spells that plague this world
Watch him lead the charge a Warrior Of Light
And through dire odds he won't give up the fight
All alone he stands against the mighty horde
He's the hero of time
He rides, vanquishing foes with his mighty sword
He strikes, straight into the light
Through the dark, driven by the fire in his heart
Break through, spells that plague this world
Watch him lead the charge a Warrior Of Light
And through dire odds he won't give up the fight
All alone he stands against the mighty horde
He's the hero of time
